St-Pierre & Cote Impress at UFC 74
by Marco Antico

Georges St-Pierre and Patrick Cote both looked impressive in their UFC 74 victories.  Georges
St-Pierre dominated Josh Koscheck with an intelligent and well executed game plan.  He chose
to play it safe on his feet in the first two rounds and surprised everyone by out-wrestling the
wrestler.  St-Pierre earned a well deserved unanimous decision victory.

Cote looked as if he had the eye of the tiger before the fight began with Kendall Grove.  He
came out aggressively wanting to test Kendall's chin.  It was a closely contested affair up until
Cote landed his signature, powerful right hand to the side of Grove's temple.  Grove fell
backwards very awkwardly and Cote pounced for the kill.  Cote secured the full mount and
pounded away until the referee called a halt to the bout towards the end of round one.  With
this victory Cote now reaffirms himself as a top contender in the UFC's Middleweight Division.

Also, all Canadian MMA fans will now have their fingers crossed that St-Pierre will get a shot at
the winner of Hughes versus Serra in Montreal in early 2008!
